Can images be compressed to any size?
Not every size limit can be met. JPG and WebP support quality adjustment; PNG requires resizing to reduce size. If allowed, dimensions shrink gradually. If the output still exceeds the limit, you receive an error rather than an oversized result.
Is transparency preserved?
PNG and WebP preserve transparency. JPG does not; transparent areas use your chosen background color.
How many bytes are in 100 KB?
This tool uses 1 KB = 1,024 bytes and shows the actual output size. The goal is to stay at or below the limit, not pad a file to an exact size.
